An interpretation of Victor Melville's art

Out of the darkness

In the darkness of the grotto I had lost all hope of ever seeing clearly again.

The blackness, so enveloping, I raise my hand in front of my face; there is no visible recognition of the man I once knew.

The faintest glimmer of light begins to appear, not constant, like intermittent radiance on choppy seas.

A source of light is becoming apparent, providing a pathway; images are now becoming clearer.

There is an expectation of what the day can now provide.
